Average World

This ongoing animated data visualization project abstractly depicts global statistics using the average color of each nation’s flag. As flags have changed (i.e. USSR becomes Russia) so does their average color. Data depicted includes land mass, Olympic medals, Nobel prizes, and population. Currently, I am working on representing Gross Domestic Product, religious populations by nation, prison populations, military spending, and US troop deployment.
